Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, has conveyed his interest in serving as chariman of the Republican National Convention (RNC).  Furthermore, Mr. Gingrich has stated clearly that he has no interest in guiding the party towards the center, preferring a clear right-wing agenda.

This is great news for conservatives during this time of upheaval in the Republican party.

For many years, the Republican party has drifted without clear leadership as the limp-spined Republicans In Name Only along with President Bush’s foolish “New Tone” ideology have driven the party to the center and removed the party’s alignment with clear conservative ideals.

Newt Gingrich offers clear advantages in this position.  Set in the role of determining the platform of the Republican party, Gingrich will have the perfect opportunity to refocus the party back on its core principles.  Additionally, Gingrich is a profoundly clear communicator who not only knows what he believes, but knows why he believes it and will be a strong and persuasive spokesman.
